Alvesco Inhaler (ciclesonide inhalation) is used to manage asthma symptoms including coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath. This works by reducing inflammation in the airways which helps to make it easier to breath. The symptoms of asthma can take time away from activities, work and socializing. It is recommended for children and adults 12 years of age and older. You begin to notice the effects within 24 hours but will not notice optimal results for a week or two. As this is a long term maintenance drug that takes a long time to provide relief, this cannot be used to relieve sudden asthma symptoms. You should have a fast acting option available with you. If you find you are using a quick relief inhaler too often and your asthma symptoms do not improve in two weeks, call your doctor or pharmacist for advice. This is stored at room temperature. This medication may weaken your immune system making you prone to illness.
