    What is Atripla used for?

Atripla is used to treat and help to manage HIV infections. It may be used alone or with other drugs to reduce the amount of HIV present in the body (viral loads). This helps to improve the function of your immune system. While this is not a cure for HIV it can prevent your condition from getting worse and prevent the risk of cancer and other health complications. You can still spread HIV even if you are taking medicine to treat it. This is approved for adults and children that weigh at least 88 lbs (40 kg).

    Atripla Information

    How to Use Atripla?

Before you start taking Atripla, carefully read and understand the drug information provided and follow all of your doctor’s directions. Call your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions as proper use will provide the most benefit.

It is usually taken on an empty stomach around bedtime to minimize side effects. Do not take more doses than recommended and do not skip any doses.

Do not stop taking Atripla after you begin starting treatment with Atripla. Ending treatment prematurely can lead to adverse effects and a return of symptoms. It can also make future treatment more difficult. Your doctor can provide medical advice to manage common side effects.
You should still take all necessary precautions to avoid giving others the virus. Contact your doctor or pharmacist for guidance if you are unsure how to protect yourself and others.

Inform your doctor if you are taking birth control as some forms of birth control can cause complications. Similarly Atripla is not recommended if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or if you have a history of liver problems.

Keep it in its original bottle with the lid tightly closed. Long term effects are currently unknown.
