What is Serevent Inhaler used for?
Serevent Inhaler (salmeterol inhalation) is a Long-acting beta-adrenoceptor agonist (LABA) and beta agonist that makes breathing easier by relaxing the muscles of the airways which opens up the airways. This is used to prevent asthma attacks and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) symptoms including emphysema and chronic bronchitis. This is a long-term maintenance drug that does not work quickly enough to treat sudden shortness of breath or asthma symptoms. Patients with asthma should carry a short acting inhaler to manage sudden breathing problems or bronchospasm (asthma attack). Breathing problems can make daily tasks such as work, school, socializing and exercise more difficult. Do not share asthma medications with others even if they have similar symptoms. This may not be an effective treatment and may pose health risks.
