What is Spiriva Respimat used for?
Spiriva Respimat (Tiotropium Bromide Monohydrate) is a medication that is used by adult patients with asthma to manage COPD (Chronic obstructive lung disease), bronchitis and emphysema. When used consistently and properly it can manage the shortness of breath, coughing and wheezing associated with lung diseases. These symptoms prevent you from engaging in activities such as driving, work, recreation and athletics. This is a long term once daily drug meant to treat and prevent symptoms and is not used to treat asthma attacks or breathing problems that are in progress. You may need a quick relief medication to deal with sudden symptoms. Your doctor may have prescribed this medication for a different condition. If this is the case, find out what this medication is supposed to treat. Do not share this medication with friends and family with similar symptoms. It may not provide any benefit and may result in unpleasant side effects. Pediatric use has results comparable to that observed in adults.
