What is Hydroquinone used for?
Hydroquinone (the generic equivalent of Solaquin Forte Cream) is used to lighten areas of darkened skin such as freckles, hyperpigmentation, liver spots, acne scarring and age spots. It also contains sunscreen which protects the skin from the sun and prevents the dark spots from returning.
Wash your hands before and after applying the cream. Rub a small amount on the skin tone areas affected. After your first treatment, check the skin lightening area for side effects within 24 hours. If you notice any itching, blistering or puffiness, call your doctor as you may need to discontinue treatment. You can continue skin bleaching treatment if you experience mild redness.
The affected areas of the skin where the cream is applied can become more sensitive to the sun. Avoid extended exposure to the sun, sunlamps and tanning booths and wear protective clothing in the sun over the treated areas.
