    What is Vigamox?

Vigamox is an ophthalmic eye drop used to treat eye infections. It’s active ingredient, Moxifloxacin, is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It can only treat bacterial infections and will not treat viral infections. Superfluous use of antibiotic medications can make future infections more difficult to combat.

    Vigamox Eye Drops Information

    Vigamox Eye Drops dosage

To see the best results, use the eye drops as instructed every day. If you stop treatment early it may cause the affection to reappear. Take your full prescribed dose unless your doctor tells you to stop.

Always wash your hands before applying the drops. Do not touch the dropper or allow it to touch any surfaces to avoid contamination.

When applying the drops, tilt your head and pull the lower eyelid to create a pouch. Position the dropper above the eye and instill the required number of drops. Look down and close your eyes gently for one or two minutes. Take this as many times a day as recommended by your doctor.

Place your finger at the corner of the eye closest to the nose to prevent the medicine from leaking out of the eye. Avoid rubbing or blinking after using the drops. Once finished, replace the dropper without washing or rinsing it. Wait 5 minutes before applying a different eye drop.

If you wear contact lenses, you may need to remove them during your course of treatment. Ask your doctor when you can sanitize and keep using them. You should notice an improvement within 7 days of proper treatment. Call your doctor if you do not notice an improvement or if your condition worsens.

Store safely at room temperature when not in use. Do not take more doses of Vigamox than what your doctor has prescribed. Taking this too often can lead to an increased risk of side effects.

    How Vigamox Eye Drops works

It is typically used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis or pink eye. It works by killing the bacteria that cause the infection. It can work for other infections as long as they are not caused by a virus. It is suitable for adults and children over 12 months of age.
