    How to Use Solifenacin?

Read the information provided by your pharmacist if available before you start taking solifenacin and every time you refill your medication. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions. Take Vesicare by mouth either with or without food as your doctor instructs you, usually once a day. Take Vesicare with a full glass of liquid. Do your best to swallow solifenacin whole as the powder in the tablet has a strong and bitter taste.

Use Vesicare on a regular basis to help you get the most benefit from it. To help aid your memory, take it at the same time every day. Your dosage will be based on your response to the medication, medical condition, and any other medications you might be taking. Make sure you are telling your doctor about all of the medications you take (including prescription medications, non-prescription medications, herbal products, and vitamins). Do not change anything about how you take Vesicare (the dose, frequency of use, or length of use) without first talking to your doctor. Your condition will not improve any faster and you will increase your risk of side effects greatly. If your condition persists or does not improve, tell your doctor.

What are side effects of Solifenacin?

Some mild and common side effects of Vesicare include: dry mouth, drowsiness, dry eyes, constipation, blurred vision, stomach upset, unusual tiredness or weakness, and headache. If these effects linger or get worse over time tell your pharmacist or doctor promptly. In order to relieve dry mouth, suck ice chips or sugarless candy, drink water, use a saliva substitute or chew sugar free gum. Eat dietary fiber, exercise, and drink enough water to prevent constipation. You can also take a laxative if necessary. Consult a pharmacist what kind of laxative would be best for you. Remember that your doctor has prescribed Vesicare because they have judged that the benefit for you will be greater than the risk of side effects. Most people who take Vesicare do not experience serious side effects.

If you experience any serious side effects tell your doctor right away. Serious side effects include: constipation for 3 days or more, signs of kidney infections (painful/burning/frequent urination, pink/bloody urine, fever), difficulty urinating, severe abdominal/stomach pain, mental/mood changes (such as hallucinations or confusion).
